Innovative Pilot Eindhoven, Fontys and Atos
The municipality Eindhoven strives for an IT service desk with more continuity and flexibility to offer a quality service also during the busy moments. For this a mini tender for a pilot was started last year where the service desk is covered by students. Fontys Hogeschool ICT (FHICT) and Atos have been selected to fulfil this, and with success!
During the first months of the pilot already 5 students of FHICT have been selected, coached and started working at the municipality to increase the quality and continuity of the service of the service desk IT. This is an unique initiative by the municipality because it aides the development of the students with work experience and it inspires the municipality with innovative insights and more than welcome extra help.
Covenant knowledge collaboration
Eindhoven further fulfils the in June 2015 signed covenant knowledge collaboration between Ad Vissers, director Fontys Hogeschool ICT, and Mary-Ann Schreurs, appointed City Council Member for innovation, culture, design and sustainability of the municipality. In the digital transformation to an information society and data economy, with a lot of technological and other manners, the organisation of the municipality Eindhoven also changes. Collaboration with students of knowledge institutions offer Eindhoven and FHICT mutual added value.
Eindhoven wants to better respond to social questions and current technological developments. And for FHICT, this makes possible that, besides the graduation of graduates, it guarantees the actuality of the ICT education with concrete learning moments as they are a realistic reflection and are innovative real life question.
Co-creation of education
Atos as ‘Partner in Education’ of FHICT is active on multiple levels in the ‘triple helix’ model. They take care of selection and coaching, graduation assignments, guest lectures and job training for students. Because of this co-creation of education Atos is jointly responsible for the content and actuality of FHICT's training.
After the summer the pilot will be evaluated and when proven succesful upscaled with more students working at various organisations in the region Eindhoven.
