What is NetAcad?

That's probably a redundant question... most of us already know this organisation. NetAcad is a great initiative by Cisco. All over the world, NedAcad offers people the opportunity to learn about IT. Last year, part of this was also known as ‘Skills for all’. Taking a course is free, and the material is good, up to date and contains quite a bit of depth. And no, NetAcad has long since ceased to be ‘Infra only’ but. Programming in Python, Cybersecurity, DevOps engineer, IoT and Linux, for instance, in addition to networking, are courses that teachers and students can take. After attending, students receive a ‘badge’ that they can post on Linkedin, for instance. NetAcad is a valuable addition to your CV.

How does NetAcad contribute as a Partner at Fontys ICT in Tilburg?

Through our contact at NetAcad, Jan-Willem Derks, a self-study portal has been set up for Infra semesters 2 and 3 and Cyber security semester 4. Tutor training sessions and Cyber seminars are being organised and, in addition to providing Hardware for the proft tasks, NetAcad is helping to set up the Proft tasks in Semester 3. A valuable contribution that enriches our education.

NetAcad has no internships itself, but has a large network of Partners who are interested in interns. Many of our Fontys Partner companies such as Axians or Simac are also Cisco Partners and allow new employees to take the CCNA course at NetAcad.
